Hi kids! Happy Easter!

Today, we want to talk about the most amazing secret ever told – the secret of the empty tomb!

Imagine you have a really good friend. Someone who always helps you, loves you, and makes you feel happy. That’s how Jesus was for his friends, the disciples. They loved Him so much.

But then, something sad happened. Jesus was treated unfairly. He was killed and put into a tomb, a place where people were buried after they died. His friends were very sad and thought they would never see Him again.

Now, imagine it’s Sunday morning. Some of Jesus’ friends, like Mary Magdalene, went to visit his tomb. They wanted to put sweet-smelling spices on his body to show how much they loved Him. But when they got there, guess what? The big, heavy stone that covered the entrance was rolled away!

And even more surprising, the tomb was empty! Jesus wasn’t there!

Mary was confused and upset. “Where did they take Him?” she wondered.

Then, an angel appeared and said, “Don’t be afraid! Jesus is not here. He has risen, just like He said!”

“Risen?” What does that mean?

It means Jesus is alive again! He isn’t dead anymore! He has power over death, and He came back to life! He is stronger than anything that could hurt Him.

Jesus came back to life in a new and amazing way.

Why is this so important?

It shows Jesus is very powerful. He can do things no one else can do.
It means Jesus loves us very much. He overcame death so we can have hope.
It gives us hope. Even when things are sad or difficult, we know Jesus is with us.
It means we can have eternal life. Because Jesus lives, we can live with Him forever in heaven.

Jesus’ resurrection is like a big, bright light shining in the darkness. It tells us that love and goodness are stronger than death itself.

Time to think:

Have you ever lost something special? How did you feel when you found it? Jesus' friends felt that same joy when they found Him!
What are some things that make you feel happy and hopeful? Remember that Jesus' resurrection is the biggest reason for hope!

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank you for loving us so much that you came back to life. Thank you for giving us hope and showing us your amazing power. Help us to remember your love and share the good news of your resurrection with everyone we meet. Amen.
